Maggie's Honey Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups white sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 4 eggs
• 1 tsp. salt
• 1 cup honey
• 10 drops star anise oil
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 4 tsp. soda
• 5 1/2 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Mix in order given. Roll out or shape in ball and flatten with glass. Watch when baking. Can burn easy.

Frosting:
1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp. white vinegar
Boil to medium ball stage. Pour over two beaten egg whites. 12 marshmellows cut in quarters. 1 tsp vanilla. If desired add food color. Frost cookies and let stand to have frosting dry.
