Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 8 thin slices white bread
- 10 oz taleggio cheese, sliced
- 8 oz thinly sliced ham
- 1 green apple, thinly sliced

Preparation
Step 1
Melt 1 tbsp butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium. Add onions and cook, stirring, until soft, 20 minutes.
Lay out 4 slices of bread. Top with half the cheese and half the ham. Layer onions, apple slices, rest of ham and cheese on top, then the rest of the bread.
Melt 1 tbsp butter in skillet. Add 2 sandwiches and cook until bottom is golden, pressing with a spatula, 4 minutes. Flip and cook until golden and cheese is melted, 4 more minutes. Repeat with rest of sandwiches and butter.
