Ingredients
- 8 slices thick italian bread
- 3 tbsp jam
- 2 oz cream cheese, room temp
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter

Preparation
Step 1
Using a paring knife, cut a horizontal slit in each bread slice to form a pocket. Stir together jam and cream cheese. Spoon 1 tbsp mixture into each pocket.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and cinnamon. In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Working in batches, lay bread slices in egg mixture, soak 5 seconds each side.
Let excess drip back, place slices in skillet. Cook until golden, 3-4 minutes per side. repeat with rest of butter and bread. Serve immediately with maple syrup.
