Preparation
Step 1
Spray a 9x13-in pan with non-stick spray. Butter each slice of bread and layer it butter side up in the bottom of the pan. Cut some slices to fill entire bottom of the pan with bread.
Layer sausage, cheese, chili peppers and onion over the top of the buttered bread. Cover the sausage layer with more bread slices, butter side up.
Mix eggs and milk well and pour over top of the casserole. It should come up at least halfway on the casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, take out of the refrigerator and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 60-75 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Let set for a few minutes before you cut it to serve.
