Ingredients

  •  16 cups thinly sliced cucumbers (9-10 good size cucumbers)
  •  6 medium onions, peeled and sliced
  •  1 green pepper, sliced
  •  1 red pepper, sliced
  •  1/3 cup salt
  •  3 cup white vinegar
  •  5 cup white sugar
  •  1 1/2 tsp turmeric
  •  1 1/2 tsp celery seed
  •  2 tbsp mustard seed

Step 1

Combine cucumbers, onions and peppers in layers in a large pot. Add salt and ice between each layer. Put more ice on top. Let stand for 3 hours. Drain well and add spices, sugar, and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Place in sterilized jars while hot, seal immediately.
