Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon aluminum-free baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon raw salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • Stevia equivalent to 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Step 1


Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda,
and salt; set aside. In a separate bowl combine the butter, applesauce, stevia,
brown sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy. Add egg whites 1 at a
time, beating after each addition. Gradually add the flour, baking soda and
salt to form a stiff dough. Use a large mixing spoon to stir in the semi-sweet
chocolate morsels. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased
cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Do not overcook.
