Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 very ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine sour cream and baking soda. Mix well and set aside. It will puff up slightly. In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, bananas and vanilla. Add sour cream mixture. Mix. Then add dry ingredients. Mix until just moist. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake 350 degrees 50 minutes to an hour or until toothpick in center comes out clean. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack.
