Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consomme

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, garlic, salt and pepper. Form mixture into 6 (5-inch) patties.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add patties, in batches if necessary, and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until browned. Remove patties from pan; set aside. Reserve 2 tbsp drippings in skillet. Add mushrooms to skillet, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until just tender. Add flour, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Stir in soup and consomme. Return patties to pan; bring to a simmer. Simmer, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes, or until patties are cooked through and sauce is thickened. Serve immediately.
