- APPLE BREAD
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tea. baking soda
- 1/4 tea. salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 tea vanilla
- 2 Granny Smith applies, peeled and chopped
- STREUSEL TOPPING
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 te3a. cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare topping: combine flour, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
Prepare bread: Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat in eggs, lemon juice and vanilla.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and stir until just moistened. Add apples and stir gently to combine.
Spoon half the batter into a buttered 9x5 loaf pan. Sprinkle with half the streusel. Spoon remaining batter into the pan and sprinkle with the remaining topping. Finish by sprinkling evenly with the brown sugar.
Bake 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove the bread from the pan and set on rack to cool.
