  • 2 1/2 lbs russet potatoes (not peeled)
  • 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425.
Line a baking sheet with foil. Spray the foil well with a oil mister. (Because of the sugar, these fries will stick so grease well)
Cut the potatoes into 1/2" thick fries
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the oil, sugar, salt and pepper. Toss the potatoes in the mixture. Spread on the baking sheet in one layer.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and browned. Serve immediately.

VARIATION:
Cheese Fries: Sprinkle grated cheese on fries just as they come out of the oven.
