Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup, unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 1-oz squares white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup almond slivers

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350, butter and flour a baking sheet, set aside

In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar with mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in cocoa powder and baking soda. Beat for 2 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add flour and stir to firm a stiff dough. Stir in chocolate and nuts.

Transfer dough to prepared baking sheet and form into a slightly flattened log, about 12" by 4". Bake until slightly firm about 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes. Reduce oven to 300.

Cut biscotti diagonally into 1" thick slices. Arrange cut sides down on a baking sheet and bake util crisp about 8 minutes.
