Ingredients

  • Empanada Discos 10 pack (color or white), 5" (Try Goya) to save time!!
  • Filling
  • 8 ounces guava jelly
  • 4 ounces butter, softened
  • 3 ounces cream cheese
  • Glaze
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon water

Preparation

Step 1

Guava Jelly, cream butter and cream cheese together in a large mixing bowl until well blended and smooth

Heat oven to 400. Move oven rack to top third of oven.

Take an empanada disc and Add about a tablespoon of filling in the middle of each round, fold in half. Secure edges by pressing with a fork.

Brush each half-round with the egg and water which have been beaten well.

Place on a baking sheet well apart.

Bake 25 minutes or until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.

* **TRADITIONALLY ***Pan fry or deep fry till brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Cool on wire rack.
