Chocolate Buttercream Frosting 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 - (1-lb.) pkg. Domino® Confectioners Sugar (approx. 3 3/4 cups.)
  • 1/2 cup - butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons - milk
  • 1 teaspoon - vanilla
  • 2 oz - unsweetened chocolate (2 squares), melted and cooled

Preparation

Step 1

Place chocolate in heavy saucepan on very low heat. Stir constantly until just melted. Set aside to cool.

Combine in large bowl, with mixer at low speed, confectioners' sugar, butter, milk and vanilla.

Beat at medium speed 1-2 minutes until creamy. Add cooled chocolate and beat until combined. If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.

Makes enough to fill and frost 2-layer cake, or 13x9x2-inch sheet cake or 24 cupcakes.


Quick Tip

To melt chocolate in the microwave: Place chocolate in microwavable bowl on HIGH 1-2 minutes or until almost melted, stirring halfway through heating time. Remove from microwave. Stir until completely melted.
