Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Coat a 9" x 13" baking dish with cooking spray.

In a medium saucepan, combine water, baking chocolate, and butter over medium-high heat; bring to a boil then remove from heat and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients; blend with an electric beater on medium speed until well blended. Stir in chocolate mixture; mix well and let mixture sit for about 10 minutes; mixture will thicken. Pour into prepared baking pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool slightly then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
