Cod, Corn and Tomato Soup

Ingredients
- 2 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 cup chopped canned tomatoes (with liquid)
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 cup cream style corn
- 1/2 lb hake, cod or pollack, cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp flour

Preparation

Cook bacon over low heat.

Drain.

Add onion to fat and brown.

Add tomatoes, water and pepper and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add corn, fish, salt and chili powder.

Stir gently and let simmer.

Meanwhile, cream together butter and flour.

Add, bit by bit, stirring until it melts and soup starts to thicken slightly.
