Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 6 ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped or 2 cans chopped tomatoes (Easier and tastes just as good.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red pepper, onion, celery and/or cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 clove garlic

Step 1

Combine all ingredients and chill for at least 4 hours before serving. Add croutons, sour cream,
Chopped chives or green onions at serving time.

Note:
This can be made ahead of time and stays well refrigerated for up to 2 weeks
