Tofu w/Garlic & Oil - Baked

Opt: sprinkle w/seasoned panko & drizzle w/some of the remaining garlic oil from marinade before baking-

Seasoned panko: Mix together:
8 oz panko, 2 tsp kosher salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp parsley, 1 tsp basil, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Opt: can also add 1/2 cup grated cheese to panko mix

Ingredients

  • 1 lb firm tofu
  • olive oil
  • approx 3 - 4 cloves garlic
  • salt
  • tiny pinch cayenne pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Drain tofu
Cut into 8 slices, then each slice into quarters for "domino" shaped pieces

If you want to reduce sharp flavor of garlic heat olive oil with minced garlic (do not cook) & let cool. (Omit if you want stronger garlic flavor)

Mix oil, garlic, salt & tiny pinch cayenne.
Pour over sliced tofu & marinate a few hours.

Preheat oven to 400.
Line pan w/foil for easier clean up.
Lightly drain tofu, lay out in pan in single layer.

Bake til tofu begins to develop color or til desired
