Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Step 1

Mix bread crumbs and beef in large bowl, Combine the onion, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, milk, slat and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Add to the beef mixture and mix well. Shape into a loaf and place in a baking dish. Heat 1/2 cup ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan. Do not boil. Pour over meat loaf. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

NOTE: Uncooked rolled oats may be substituted for bread crumbs, or use 1/2 of each, depending on what you have on hand.
