Ingredients
- 2 cups unsifted flour
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) cold butter
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 24 caramels, unwrapped
- 1 (14 oz)can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (not evaporated milk!)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and egg; cut in 1/2 cup of the butter until crumbly. Stir in nuts.
Reserve 2 cups of the crumb mixture; press remainder firmly on bottom of greased 13x9" baking pan. Bake 12 min.
Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels with Eagle Brand and remaining butter. Pour over prepared crust. Top with reserved crumb mixture.
Bake 15-18 min or until edges are bubbly and topping is golden. Cool and cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temp.
