- 3 C sifted cake flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 C room temperature butter
- 1 3/4 C sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla
- 1 1/4 C milk

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, prepare pans.
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, and eggs, one at a time mixing until incorporated before adding the next egg. Then mix well.
Add flour mixture alternating with milk, beating until incorporated after each addition. Then continue beating 1 minute more.
Pour into pans.
Bake according to pan size.
Cool in pans for 15 minutes, then turn out to finish cooling on a wire rack before frosting.
Makes 6 cups of batter.
