Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C semi sweet chocolate morsels
- 1/2 C butter (room temperature)
- 1 16 oz pkg of light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 C all purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 8 oz container of sour cream (room temperature)
- 1 C hot water
- 2 tsp pure vanilla

Step 1
Melt chocolate morsels in a microwave bowl on high at 30 second intervals until melted. About 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
Beat butter and brown sugar at medium speed for about 5 minutes or until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating at low speed just until blended after each addition. Add melted chocolate, beating until blended.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to chocolate mixture alternating with sour cream - beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition. Gradually add 1 cup of hot water in a slow steady stream, beating on low speed just until blended.
Stir in vanilla.
Bake at 350 degrees 20 - 35 minutes or when a toothpick has a crumb or two left on it.
Makes 8 1/2 Cups batter
Use 3 greased and floured 8" pans
