I started making these in the early 80's. I bought my first miniature muffin tin so that I could make these. I took these to many potlucks, baby showers, bridal showers, graduations parties through the years. I think I found this recipe in a small Pillsbury grocery store cookbook. This recipe doubles very well.
Crust: Mix together the cream cheese, butter and flour. Chill for one hour. Make into small balls. Spread in mini muffin tins. Filling: Mix together butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla and chopped nuts. Place a spoonful of filling in the crust. Top with 1/2 slice of maraschino cherry, if desired. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
