Ingredients
- Cookie base:
- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Toffee layer:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Step 1
Cookie base:
Preheat oven to 350. In bowl combine wafer crumbs and brown sugar. Stir in butter. Press into 13 x 9 in baking pan. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes.
Toffee layer:
In saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Cook over moderate heat until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Pour immediately over baked base. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate morsels on top. Let stand 2 to 3 minutes until morsels are shiny and soft. Spread evenly. Chill.
Cut into bars or break into irregular pieces.
