Ingredients

  • 2 c butter Crisco or butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 5 c flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ◾4+ cups powdered sugar
  • ◾6 tablespoons whole milk
  • ◾6 tablespoons honey or light corn syrup
  • ◾1 teaspoon almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar just until incorporated. Scrape sides and mix a few seconds longer. Add eggs slowly and mix. Add vanilla and then dry ingredients. When dough clumps around paddle, it is ready. Don't overmix. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Refrigerate after cut into shapes. Roll between parchment paper sprinkled with sugar. 350, 8-12 minutes.

Mix icing ingredients. Separate and make some of it thicker for outline of cookies.
