Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 3 full-size loaves French bread
  • 1 (14-ounce) jar pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 green bell peppers, cut into rings
  • 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded colby cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.


Cook the sausage in a medium skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 8 minutes; drain well.


Meanwhile, cut each loaf of bread in half horizontally, then cut each half again lengthwise, making 12 slices. Place on baking sheets.


Spread the pizza sauce evenly on the cut sides of the bread.


Sprinkle with the sausage, onion, bell pepper rings, mozzarella, colby and Parmesan cheeses.


Bake the pizzas until the cheeses melt and begin to brown around the edges, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
