Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground Beef (chuck, lean)
  • 1 14oz Bottle of Ketchup
  • 1 5oz Worcestershire Sauce
  • 25 Ginger Snaps - finely crushed
  • 2 medium Onions - chopped
  • 3 1/2 qts Water
  • 2 t Salt
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 T Allspice
  • 1/2 T Cloves
  • 1/2 t Pepper
  • 1/2 Fresh Lemon
  • 2 Hard Boiled Eggs - chopped (just when serving)

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat just to get pink out. Mix all ingredients, except ginger snaps (add at end) and lemon. Simmer for 2 1/2 hours, stirring frequently. Add the lemon in for the last half hour.
