Ingredients

  • 9 in pie shell(store bought,or use favorite homemade crust)
  • 2 cups coffee beans or uncooked rice
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 stick sweet butter,melted
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
  • whipped cream

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375

-Line 10 in removable bottom tart pan pan with crust
-Place coffee beans or rice on crust as pie weights and bake for 10 min
-Remove beans or rice and set aside
-In medium bowl combine maple syrup,butter,salt, and sugar
-Using electric mixer,beat on high for 5 min or until fluffy
-Stir in nuts
-Pour into pie shell and bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean
-Let cool
-Remove rim from tart pan
-Serve with whipped cream lightly sweetened with maple syrup
