Ingredients

  • 1 Recipe Basic Pizza Crust
  • 3/4 pound hot Italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 Recipe 4 Alarm Pizza Sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 5 ounces chopped jalapeno pepper
  • 10 ounces shredded Colby-Jack cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Saute sausage in oil (keep them in their casings) 10 to 12 minutes. Drain, cook and then slice into 1/4-inch pieces. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over pizza crust. Top pizza evenly with sausage slices, red onion and jalapeno pepper. Bake pizza for about 5 minutes. Remove and top with cheese and crushed red pepper. Return to oven and bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until cheese is melted and crust is nice and brown.
