Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients with the 1/2 cup of chili sauce. Using your hands, mix just until combined—DO NOT OVER-MIX. Divide beef into 4 equal portions then form each portion into a 4-inch patty, about 1 1/2 inches thick; place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray and bake until browned, about 15 minutes. Lightly brush tops and sides of patties with remaining 3 tablespoons of chili sauce. Return to oven until patties are cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
LC SERVING SUGGESTION: Turnip Fries (peel turnips and slice into “fries”; toss with some olive oil and bake on a cookie sheet in a 425-degree oven until golden, turning once; season with salt and pepper and garlic powder. Serve a big green salad on the side.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Russet Fries (same directions as Turnip Fries, but don’t peel potatoes).
KOSHER: Make sure beef is certified kosher.
GLUTEN FREE: Make your own gluten free breadcrumbs using gluten free bread. Make sure chili sauce is gluten free.
