Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 4 teaspoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 3/4 cup gruyére cheese, diced

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Cut the bacon into small bits with a scissor and cook until crispy. Remove to paper towel-lined dish to remove most of the fat.
Stir the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder until mixed. In a bowl, beat the egg, cooled butter, milk and sour cream and then stir into flour mix. The mix will be lumpy, but don't wory. Stir in the bacon bits and cheese cubes.
Spoon the mixture evenly into lightly greased 10-cup muffin pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean.
Allow to cool ten minutes before serving.
