Ingredients

  • 1 18 oz. package yellow cake mix
  • 1 3 1/2 oz. box instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. rum
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 3 tbls. butter
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. rum

Mix cake mix and pudding mix together. In another bowl, beat eggs, water, oil and rum until frothy. Combine cake mixture and egg mixture together. Grease pan and coat with nuts. Pour cake batter over the nuts and bake at 325 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. 15 min. prior to taking the cake out of the oven, bring butter, sugar and water to a boil. Keep stirring the glaze until it is thick. Remove from heat and add rum. Poke holes in the top of the cake and pour over cake immediately.
