Jicama and Avocado with Lime-Spiced Sugar-Salt 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1/2 long red finger chili (~3") or 2 Thai chilies, stemmed, seeded, & finely chopped (~1t)
  • 1/2 c raw sugar such as muscovado
  • 1/4 c granulated sugar
  • 1 T mild sea salt
  • Finely grated zest & juice of 1 lime
  • 2 avocados, pitted, peeled, & each sliced lengthwise into eighths
  • 1 med jicama, trimmed peeled, & cut into .5"x.5"x3" sticks

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place chopped chili on paper towels to drain.
2. In a small bowl, stir together sugars, salt, lime zest, & chili.
3. In a med bowl, gently toss avocados w/lime juice.
4. Arrange jicama & avocado on a serving plate.
5. Garnish w/lime-spiced sugar-salt, or serve sugar-salt on the side.
