Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Step 1

Stir all ingredients until boiling. Cook without stirring until 300 degrees farenheit (using a candy thermometer). Lower the heat.
Continue cooking and add red food colouring until you get the desired colour. Stir as little as possible. When it gets to “hard crack”. Take it off the stove and dunk apples on popsicle sticks to cover. Then place each one on a slightly buttered sheet of tin foil.
Yummy! (my mother was addicted to these).
