Grandma's Cream Scones

Ingredients
- 4 T. Butter
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/4 t salt
- 5 1/2 T. sugar
- 1 t. soda
- 2 t. cream of tartar
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup heavy cream

Step 1
Using a pastry blender, cut butter into flour and salt. Mix until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add sugar, baking soda and cream of tartar. Mix well.
Beat egg with cream; add to flour mixture using a wooden spoon to make a spongy mixture. Place dough on a floured board; pat to 1/2" thickness. Cut dough into rounds. Flour your hands and place scones on nonstick cookie sheet.
Leave for 10 minutes to settle.
Bake in preheated overn at 450 degrees for 8 minutes or are golden brown.
Serve with jam.
