Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 1 12 oz. package chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and egg. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks and nuts. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart of a True Baker cookie pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
