Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless beef (round or rump)
  • 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium onions, quartered
  • 1 19-ounce can beans in sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 10-ounce can beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cut beef into 1-inch pieces. Heat oil in large saucepan or dutch oven; add meat and garlic and sauté until meat is browned. Add onions, beans, honey, beef broth, thyme, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Transfer to a crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: This dish begs for mashed potatoes! Add some steamed broccoli and steamed baby carrots for a well-rounded meal!

VEGETARIANS: Skip the beef and add another can of beans!
