Preparation

Step 1

1. In a bowl, make Marge Harper's Holiday Cheese Ball. Shape into a ball, then squish it a little. This is the turkey's body.

2. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese and milk until smooth. Divide among four small bowls. With food coloring, tint one bowl brown, one dark orange, and one light orange (using yellow and orange); leave one bowl plain white.

3. Transfer each mixture to a snack-sized Ziplock bag, and cut a small hole in the corner of each bag.

4. For turkey tail feathers, decorate the top halves of 6 Townhouse Oval Bistro crackers with the tinted cream cheese mixtures. Look at the photo for guidance.

5. Using the red pepper, form the turkey head, neck, and wattle.

6. For the beak, cut a small triangle from summer squash; attach with cream cheese.

7. Add eyes, using brown and plain cream cheese mixtures.

8. Insert pecan halves and decorated crackers into the cheese ball.

9. Serve with assorted crackers.
