Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and pecans
  • 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F; grease and flour a 9 x 9-inch baking pan. In a small bowl, stir or whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Gradually add the flour mixture, blending well after each addition. Stir in half of the chocolate chips, half of the chopped nuts and half of the marshmallows.
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the top evenly with the remaining chocolate chips, nuts and marshmallows; press lightly with a pancake turner so they stick to the hot dough. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes longer, until the marshmallows are golden. Let the pan cool completely on a wire rack. Run a sharp knife around the edge of the pan, then cut into 25 squares. (5 squares by 5 squares), wiping the knife blade between cuts.
