Ingredients

  • SYROP:
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 Tbs. orange zest
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F

Butter 6 X 10 loaf pan.

With an electric mixer, mix the butter with the sugar

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing in between

Add the sour cream, nuts, dates, raisins and the zests

SPRAY the loaf pan

Pour into the loaf pan and cook for 1 hour or until it reached 208F

Orange Icing:
Dissolve the sugar and the orange juice and pour over the warm loaf.
