Bulk Spaghetti Sauce

This sauce is made in bulk quantities and then used for lasagnas, manicotti, ravioli and can be frozen for spaghetti or pizzas. When defrosting it is OK and quite normal to pour off extra liquid.
This sauce in economical at about 38 cents per serving.

Ingredients
- In large stock pot mix:
- 2 onions diced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 lbs. Italian sausage (buy Jimmy Dean brand in a tube, less
- expensive)
- 2 lbs. hamburger (may omit)
- Brown meat and seasonings together.
- Drain the meat mixture then add:
- 1 (106 oz) can spaghetti sauce from Costco or 4 jars (28 oz)
- commercial spaghetti sauce
- 1 (106 oz) can tomato sauce or 2 (28 0z) cans Italian-style
- diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 4 (2.4 oz) cans sliced black olives (optional)
- 3 Tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon dried basil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Note: Try adding 1/3 - 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Preparation
Step 1
Cool spaghetti sauce and pour into freezer bags for your family size (usually 1/2 cup per person). Squeeze out air and zip shut. Label, date, and freeze.
