  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups half-and-half
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 crusty loaf white bread, cubed
  • Vanilla ice cream softened

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. In a bowl beat the eggs well. Add the half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well. Put the bread cubes into a large bowl. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and lightly mix. Pour the bread mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and serve warm. Drizzle the ice cream over each individual serving.
