Preparation

Step 1

A client of mine gave me this recipe and it quickly became a favorite in our house. The best part is that everyone is involved: I make the glaze, the kids shake the jar, my husband runs the grill. Teamwork! It is seriously the best coconut oil chicken glaze on the planet!

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a jar in the morning

Every time you walk past the jar, give it a good shake. Kids will love this!

I’m a bit confused, do you marinate the chicken, or just based it after its been cooking for awhile? If so, why would you mix up the sauce so early? Can’t you just mix the sauce up, fire up the grill and then baste? What is the benefit of doing it earlier in the day? Thanks!

Deborah, you surely can just mix and baste. It just melds the flavors together better if they are allowed to sit all day. Shaking the jar agitates the mixture and enhances the flavor. Sort of like an infused oil. I like to make it and let it infuse all day, then fire up the grill and cook the meat and once its really cooking I baste with the glaze. I bet it would make a great marinade too though!
