Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter chips

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

2. In large bowl, beat together the butter and peanut butter until smooth. Add both sugars, beat until light in color. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. With wooden spoon, stir in both kinds of chips.

3. With floured hands, press 1/4 cup of dough into 3-inch disks on ungreased baking sheets (6 per sheet). Or you can make normal size cookies, if you prefer.

4. Bake large cookies in oven for 16-18 minutes or until browned slightly along edges but still appear wet in cracks. Bake small cookies for only about 7-8 minutes. For large cookies: Let stand on sheets on wire racks 3 minutes. Using thin spatula, remove cookies to racks to cool. Serve slightly warm, or they can be dropped into toaster for 15 to 20 seconds to warm slightly.
