Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 package yellow or golden cake mix
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup dark rum

Step 1

Grease and flour a bundt pan. Sprinkle bottom with pecans.
In a mixing bowl combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil and rum. Pour into pan and bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour. Cake should be golden brown and tester should come out clean.
Cool 5 minutes and invert onto serving plate. Cool completely and top with glaze if desired.
Glaze: 1/2 cup butter, 1/4 cup dark rum, 1 cup granulated sugar
In a heavy saucepan, melt butter, stir in rum and sugar. Bring to boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Drizzle over cake.
