Sour Cream Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients
- Cake:
- 3 ounces unsweetened bakery chocolate
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 pint sour cream, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- Frosting:
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 3/4 cup (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 3/4 pound (about 3 cups) powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- dash of salt
- milk as needed

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease and flour 9 X 13 cake pan.
Combine chocolate, butter and boiling water in sauce pan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and smooth.
In a large mixing bowl; mix together flour, sugar, baking soda and sugar.
Pour hot chocolate mixture into dry ingredients.
Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla.
Beat until well blended.
Pour into prepared cake pan.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Frosting:
In small saucepan, over medium heat, melt chocolate and butter.
Cool slightly.
In large mixing bowl combine sugar and salt.
Add melted chocolate mixture and vanilla.
Beat well.
Gradually, add enough milk to make it creamy.
Beat well after each addition of milk.
Spread over cooled cake.
