Ingredients
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 cups each all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract

Step 1
Heat oven to 350. Coat two 8 x 2 inch round cake pans with nonstick cooking spray, line bottoms with wax paper and spray the paper.
Heat butter, water and oil in small saucepan just until butter is melted; remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm.
Meanwhile, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl with whisk. Whisk milk, eggs and vanilla into butter mixture.
