Ingredients
- 3 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces (about 8 cups)
- 2 medium Granny Smith and/or other tart cooking apples, cored and cut into wedges
- 1/2 cup dried cherries or dried cranberries (optional)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 cup apple butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

In a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker, combine sweet potato, apple, and, if desired, dried cherries. In a medium bowl, combine cream, apple butter, and pumpkin pie spice. Pour cream mixture over mixture in cooker; stir gently to combine.

Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 7 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
