Laura made this recipe for Kailey's birthday party. It can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for a day. It also freezes and defrosts well. This makes it great for pot lucks as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 16oz pkg spaghetti
  • 1 1b ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 26oz jar meatless spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 t seasoned salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c grated parmesan cheese
  • 5 T butter, melted
  • 2 c 4% cottage cheese
  • 4 c shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Step 1

Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, parmesan cheese, and butter.

Drain spaghetti; add egg mixture and toss to coat.

Place half the spaghetti mixture in a gresed 13X9 inch baking dish. Top with half of the cottage cheese, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Uncoverand bake 20-25 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
