Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • water
  • 8 potatoes
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Dough:
Mix flour and salt.
Mix egg and oil fast and add to flour mixture.
Add water until workable.
Let sit covered for 1/2 hour.

Filling:
Cook potatoes and mash but not too much.
Add cottage cheese to potatoes.
(1/2 potatoes + 1/2 cottage cheese)

Put pierogies in boiling water.
When they come to the top, they're done.

Fry in butter.
Saute onions in butter and pour on top.
