Ingredients

  • 1/2 C butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 C sugar, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 C sour cream
  • 1 C chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 TBL grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 C lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1


in lg. mixing bowl, cream butter & 1 C sugar until light & fluffy
add eggs - mix well
combine flour, baking powder & salt
add to creamed mixture alternately w/ sour cream
fold in pecans & lemon peel

transfer to greased 9" X 5" X 3" loaf pan
bake @ 350 for 50-60 min or until toothpick inserted near center comes
out clean

in sm. saucepan, combine lemon juice & remaining sugar
cook & stir over med. heat until sugar is dissolved
pour over warm bread
cool completely on wire rack before removing from pan
